What do you write on your first blog post? How do you make yourself sound remotely interesting? And if you are successful in doing this how the hell do you keep it up? Well to be completely honest I have no idea but I have to start somewhere, I guess, so here goes...
Hi, I'm Nyomi. I'm a 17 year old student who aspires to be a fashion journalist and I will be interning at this year's London Fashion Week, which (hence the title) is in 2 days. I guess the normal thing to say is that I'm sooooo excited and that I literally cannot wait but that frankly isn't the case. I'm finding it beyond weird how I haven't been hit by excitement yet, I mean this is London Fashion Week, it's a big fucking deal but nope... nothing.
Looking back this may be due to the fact I missed the first and only meeting which outlined what exactly I would be doing at LFW and also the fact that I now know no one who is working with me/ for POP PR apart from Sarah who has been emailing me. Then again, what does she look like? God knows. Trust me, Nyomi ShootMeDeadIfShesEverOnTime Liburd to miss such an important meeting. However the PR agency surprisingly still let me be an intern at LFW so thankfully I can keep my knickers on, for now.
WARNING: Here comes the 'I've wanted to have a career in fashion since I was just a little girl' speech but seriously the moment I was accepted to intern at LFW for POP PR I honestly stood in my kitchen with my phone in my hand waiting to wake up with crap hair and morning breath, but it wasn't a dream, and I'm actually going to LFW. Fuck.
Of course I'm looking forward to it but still no excitement, hmmm maybe it'll hit me the day before.
WAIT, that's tomorrow. Shit.
